Tom McGunigal, the certified yoga instructor, will guide you through poses designed to calm your mind and strengthen your body, and the class is designed for ALL fitness levels. Each ticket includes a post-class informal Q&A with an trained animal educator, PLUS all-day zoo admission for the class day. So get moving then get exploring!

Morning schedule:
Each participant must bring their own yoga mat and water bottle. All activities are held outside and will take place on a paved surface (you may bring an additional mat for added comfort, if you want).

  • 7 AM: Check-in
  • 7:30 AM: Class begins
  • 8:30 AM: Class ends; post-class exhibit talk before guests adventure through the zoo.
  • 9 AM: Zoo opens to the public and all attendees can explore the zoo!

Weather policy:
This event takes place outdoors in the open-air of our African plaza. If heavy rains are forecasted, the class will be automatically rescheduled to its rain date. A decision about rescheduling will be made by the zoo roughly 24-48 hours in advance. All participants will be notified via email, with the change also announced on the zoo's website and Facebook page.
As a registrant, be sure you can attend BOTH sessions so you do not miss out!  All sales are final, and the zoo will not be granting weather-related refunds, nor will refunds, exchanges, or transfers be possible if you cannot attend the rain date.  Rain dates will use the original class timeframes and the rain dates are as follows:

  • The rain date for the Saturday, June 1, 2024 class will be Sunday, June 2, 2024
  • The rain date for the Saturday, September 14, 2024 class will be on Sunday, September 15, 2024

Waivers & youth participation:
All participants will agree to the waiver at time of purchase, which is required before they can participate. The zoo makes every effort to ensure a safe environment with this thoughtfully planned program, but no responsibility will be taken for any injuries you may incur during this practice. Please consult with your doctor to be sure yoga is safe and suitable for you, particularly if you have any pre-existing conditions. Additionally, you must be at least 16 years old to attend this experience; any guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, as parental consent is required for all minors. Timeslots do fill up quickly, and while limited tickets while be sold on-site as availability permits, we highly recommend reserving your ticket in advance.

What do I bring? Be sure to bring a camera to capture the magic! Though the program is indoors, zoo exhibits are mostly outdoors and some queueing may also be outdoors, so please dress comfortably and in tune with the forecasts.

VIP Photos and Storytime with the Easter Bunny

2024 VIP Storytime & Photos
with the Easter Bunny

Is a quick photograph once a year simply not enough time for you and the Easter Bunny? We understand – and we have a solution for you - come spend some extra time with the Easter Bunny during a very special early-open VIP Storytime!

During this cozy limited-capacity feature, 15 kiddos will gather close as a friend of the Easter Bunny tells a tale of tails designed to delight! Afterwards, each child will be able to sit with the Easter Bunny for a photograph before adventuring out into the zoo. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the magic!

What about adults? A paid ticket is required for each child age 12 and younger. The ticket includes the child's admission PLUS allows for one adult to accompany the child.  This program room must maintain a strict capacity due to fire code. This means if you plan on bringing additional adults beyond the single adult included with a child's ticket, please have every additional adult purchase his/her own program ticket.

Everyone must ALSO have a same-day 10 AM zoo admission ticket to attend: Roger Williams Park Zoo is still using timed entry to reduce crowding on grounds. Each non-member attendees (plus their accompanying family) must have a same-day 10 AM zoo admission ticket or they will not be allowed inside. The zoo ticket is a separate requirement from this program admission, so be sure to reserve both when ordering.

Important tips for arrival: Be sure to check-in at the zoo entrance at 9 AM (which means arriving early for parking).  This program starts promptly at 9:15 AM at a venue about 5-10 minutes from the main entrance, so we don't want you to miss out! As you plan, please be sure to allot extra time for driving, parking, and reaching the main entrance!
